Welcome to Furman University in South Carolina!

Zeta Upsilon has members who are determined to go above and beyond to strive for excellence! The second day I was there, the chapter had a retreat up in the mountains. Luckily we were in cabins with bathrooms and running water, so we weren't roughing it too much! We spent the day doing team building activities, making cards for their friends from the Golden Anchor Program, recruitment practice, senior and sophomore pursuits and just having fun playing board games in the cabins! The women are doing a great job of creating positive PR for themselves on campus, and they just recently won homecoming! While I was there, they were planning for their upcoming fundraiser "Eye Love Art", where they auctioned artwork from kids and adults with visual impairements. The art was incredible! They invited local politicians, businesses, school administrators, students, and it was parents weekend! I hear it was an amazingly successful event!

Recruitment in Tennessee!

I was able to attend one night of recruitment at Tennessee Tech in the small city of Cookville, TN. The women of the Epsilon Epsilon chapter put a lot of time in effort into preparing for recruitment! They had an incredibly positive attitude and fabulous DG spirit going into their first night of recruitment. Not to mention, everyone was excited about their brand new chapter suite! A helpful alumnae member helped them decorate it, and it looked beautiful! The chapter also made sure that I learned a few Delta Gamma cheers their chapter created. We said them right before the first night of recruitment began, to get everyone pumped up!

Delta Nu-Northern Illinois University

The Delta Gammas at Northern Illinois University have a large, beautiful house! The women of Delta Nu have a strong sisterhood and I had a blast with them! Although it was a short visit, I

was able to meet with all officers, help with a recruitment practice and attend a "tugs" practice, which I had never heard of. Tugs is a very intense form of tug of war, which is a philanthropy competition put on by one of the fraternities each year. Many people come to watch the event, and the teams practice for several months! I was there in late August, and the competition wasn't until October! All organiziations on campus are very supportive of each other's philanthropy events!

Big Ten Company with Lambda- Minnesota!

My first Big Ten encounter while traveling was with Minnesota! I absolutely loved it there! The women were super welcoming and very friendly. The president, Mallory, took me to a hockey game. I also was able to spend time with Kaelee Stone (past CDC and HB adviser for Lambda) and the other advisers. I was even able to see their big/little reveal. The littles say the first half of a quote and the bigs finish it. It was so exciting to see how happy everyone was!

Minnesota has three campuses. Their main campus was beautiful in the fall. They have an area called Dinky Town which has restaurants and some shops. One of the chapter members is applying to be a CDC next year!! Go Lambda!




One of the chapter member's dad grows pumpkins and enters them in different contests. This pumpkin weighed over 1,100 pounds!

Loving Life @ Alpha Chi - Penn State!!

I had a great visit to Alpha Chi, Penn State University! They have a beautiful campus in State College, PA, and our chapter is one of 19 groups on the campus. My visit was during formal recruitment, during which the chapter welcomed 24 fabulous new members, 5 of which are legacies!

The school is very well-known for their athletics, academics and Nittany Lion pride!

Pre-recruitment and recruitment with Alpha Delta - Oregon

I got to spend a lot of time with the women of AD helping them prepare for recruitment, and assisting them during recruitment. I formed a very strong relationship with the women and am happy I was able to spend so much time with them. We did not sleep much, but it was totally worth it when they received a wonderful new member class of 62 women (which is the biggest they have ever had). They pledged 10 legacies... over 40% which is something else they have not done in awhile!

Welcome to the Deeg! - Phi chapter - University of Colorado at Boulder

JUMPING FOR JOY IN COLORADO!

The women of Phi chapter recently enjoyed a successful recruitment. Formal recruitment started with a burst of energy and with a rocking nautical theme! The DG house and the women in it were ready to welcome over 900 PNMs on the first day of the process. They showed a slide show, danced, and sang to welcome their potential new sisters! Moving through the week everyone kept that same intense level of energy to make recruitment fun for both the PNMs and for each other. The women of Phi are some of the most confident recruiters on campus. They have a lot to offer and are happy to share their home with others. Their sisterhood shined strong with each round of recruitment.

Pictured above are the President, the ice anchor, and vp: membership. They proudly stand at the exit of preference ceremony. Preference was held in the evening/night at CU, and the atmosphere could not have been better to seal the deal! The women of Phi spent time talking to potential new members about Delta Gamma, sisterhood, and values. This night led to an amazing bid day - pictured above - at Jumpstreet! The Phi chapter exceeded quota!

Boulder is a beautiful city with amazing sisters. The women of Phi chapter have a strong sisterhood and an even stronger love for Delta Gamma.

Nu - University of Idaho

Traveling to Moscow, ID was interesting. I flew in to the Pullman airport which is the smallest airport I have ever seen and probably ever will see. I walked in to the airport and there was only one gate and one desk to check baggage. The only food was a vending machine!

Nu just renovated their Formal living room and their dining room. They also got a new roof. Everything looks great! I got to see Formal chapter and a new memeber meeting. I also got to meet the two ATCs and the new member education adviser.

What a great chapter! They are very strong administratively and I enjoyed that :) I also got to see them play intramural flag football and Wiffle Ball. It was super fun! Their campus is beautful too. They have a "Hello Walk" where everyone that walks through is supposed to say hello to other walkers. The hills there are almost unbearable! Driving to campus is beautiful with the yellow hills!

Moscow is on the Washington border. We went to see a movie and the closest movie theater is in Pullman, WA. Also, Washington State is in Pullman so the president drove me to see their campus and DG house.

Zeta Sigma - Northern Kentucky University

I ended my tour de Kentucky by visiting the lovely ladies of Zeta Sigma at NKU as they were gearing up for Recruitment. They are doing some fabulous things on campus! Many of the women are involved in student government as well as many other student organizations. They are definitely Doing Good! Each group in the Fraternity/Sorority community has a bench on campus where members can meet and hang out during the day. Here's me and Krystin (who gave me a great tour of the ever-expanding campus) on the Delta Gamma bench!

This year Zeta Sigma got a floor in campus housing; for the first time they have been allowed to decorate and really make it their own! The women have gotten to paint and are going to hang their composites. They went with pink and blue (and some yellow accents) of course! They have a room at the end of the hall where live-in and other members can watch movies and get together. Here's a shot from one end while things were still under construction. It was so exciting to see the floor coming together and for the women to have a place to gather!

I had such a good time getting to see Cincinnati as well. I was really brave and tried their special foods, Cincinnati chili and goetta (A breakfast food that is a mix of sausage and oatmeal based on everyone's best guess). Thanks to everyone for a wonderful visit!

Fiesta de la Noche... and the days before!

The women of Eta Delta at University of North Florida welcomed me a few days before formal recruitment started! They had been working extremely hard each and every day leading up to the events. Once recruitment began, the women of Eta Delta used every ounce of their energy to be wonderful hosts to the PNMs entering their parties.

The chapter looked great each day of recruitment! They were also some amazing hostesses. I was able to meet with a bunch of Eta Delta's officers, they have some very exciting things planned for their Fall semester - it made me want to stay and hang out!

One thing I can't forget to mention is the great frozen yogurt places! I had meetings where we talked over a build-your-own frozen yogurt! It was so yummy! We took a stab at guessing the Mystery Flavor each day for 50% off (we got it right once... because one of the women works there)!! The women said that when their DG families get together they often go to get yogurt - not a bad idea!

Moving on to Bid Day!!! Quota was 54 and they pledged 56!! This new member class was so excited too! Pictured above is myself and Allie, the president of Eta Delta on bid day. We went to Dave and Busters to eat, play, and enjoy. We ROCKED Dave and Busters! So many women and their bid day buddies hit the jackpot that we cleared out the prize shop! GO DG!

Moving on to the best part of all... Fiesta de la Noche!!! The women decided that bid day was not enough time with their new member class, they decided to have a bid night celebration! The Fiesta de la Noche was a huge success! There was a taco bar, frozen treats, and an acoustic guitar player! Everyone came out in full force to hang out and enjoy the night! It was outside on a fabulous night! We danced, we ate, we talked, we loved life! New members were able to see the sisters interact with one another and get to know everyone a lot better. Having a bid night celebration was such a great idea! We really "sealed the deal" with this one!

Eta Kappa- North Carolina State

After my first break, I headed off to Eta Kappa- North Carolina State! Go wolf pack!!! The wonderful women welcomed me into their home and into recruitment!!! It was a crazy time but we all had a lot of fun!

The chapter women introduced me to the shoes called Jack Rogers... more commonly known as "jacks." Apparently they are a big deal. Eta Kappa women wore these shoes atleast two out of the four days of recruitment. However, don't let the fact that they are flip flops fool you. They are actually quite uncomfortable. But hey, we are DGs, we have to look good!!!

This is a picture of their preference night. Isn't it beautiful! The potentional new members got to sit outstide and eat cute cupcakes with their intials on it before going inside. It was a lovely atmosphere and the weather was perfect!

Here is a picture of everyone on Bid Day!!!! Their theme was NFL draft!!! Eta Kappa had an amazing recruitment! Quota was 38 and they took 39 wonderful women!



I was sad to leave after recruitment and bid day but I knew they all would continue to DO GOOD!

Beta Pi- Willamette

Willamette University is a tiny school (about 1,800 students) in Salem, OR. I got to visit these ladies for COB for 9 days. Their Greek community is small, only DG, Pi Phi, and AXO, and four fraternities.

I got to witness two COB events: Glee with DG and PJs and Puppy Chow! These were so fun and the women had an incredible turn out at each event. When I left, they had pledged nine more people through COB which is amazing!

We also went to a Guide Dog graduation in Portland. It was so neat to see how the dogs can help people with visual impairments. We got a tour of the facility, and the work they do there is amazing. I am very happy I got to experience this! Check out some pictures below:
